Cannock was once a small hamlet nestling at the foot of Shoal Hill. In medieval times, as part of the Manor of Cannock, an 'open field' existed, which provided community farming for the villagers. Over time, the open fields and sections of the chase were enclosed and became part of large estates. This is a journey through the land of Cannock Park.
